I installed NextGEN Gallery to evaluate if it would work for me. I am currently using the free version, but I have a question. How do I enable imagemagick on my install? I have searched every setting page and I cannot find a place to do this.

@ryanmc – We do not have an option to “enable imagemagick” … is there a specific reason you require it?

Perhaps this would be better as a Feature Request item here: http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/feature-voting/

I saw that there is an imagemagick.inc.php class in the files and was just curious.

@ryanmc – Yes, it is included with NextGEN Gallery as an alternative to the GD libraries.

So how do I use the Imagemagick library instead of the GD libraries? I am asking because I am having trouble (http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/transparent-watermark-on-pgn?replies=5#post-5812620) with a transparent png watermark and I would like to see if imagemagick can handle it better.

@ryanmc – I would suspect you will need to hack into the core plugin code (which we really do not recommend or support) to force your site to not use the GD libraries.

Again, not recommended, but this is the only place imagemagick is called in NextGEN Gallery: products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ngglegacy/lib/core.php:309

Please make sure you have a fully verified complete backup of your site before making any modifications … just in case.
