    Hi Team,

When I try to optimize the images already there on my website, I do not see any optimization is being done for them even though when I click on the “Optimize” button to optimize the image.

I could see the size is not getting reduced even after the optimizing process is completed.

Please let me know what’s the issue with your plugin. because these images I am able to optimize them from other optimization tools (For Ex-TinyPNG tool) but not with your tool even when I try to upload them to your website and try to optimize them, but it’s giving a message as “WELL DONE. This image is already compressed, no further compression required.”

Below is the screenshot from tinyPNG tool:–

    Hi @goglobal2016

The process depends on many factors. Usually, when image is not optimized and you get Well done... message, that means further compression would affect image quality and we stop the process.

Based on information you provided, I would focus on the following points:

    • Did you convert images to WebP/AVIF? If so, what is the gain of that format?
    • Do you optimize images using Smart compression level? Please try with it if you use Lossless
    • TinyPNG reduced image weight for less than 30kB, so it’s not significant gain
    • Does the same happen for a lot of images in your Media Library? If so, is there a chance to send me a link to some of these so we could check?

    Best Regards,
    Marko

    Hey @goglobal2016

Sorry for sending multiple messages in a row. I think I missed one point here. You also reported that optimization process within Media Library does not get completed, but the button is back to Optimize, is that correct?

If so, it would be crucial to resolve this as this should solve the compressed image size as well.

I would suggest you to follow this guide and let me know if that helped to make optimization work again https://imagify.io/documentation/optimization-is-stuck/

    Best Regards

    Hi Marko,

Below is my answer to the focus points which you mentioned:–

Coming to your question about “You also reported that optimization process within Media Library does not get completed, but the button is back to Optimize, is that correct?” — Yes this is correct and this is what is happening for all media files.

And when I install the Imagify tools plugin from the documentation link you shared, I could see it’s blocked by the firewall, as shown below.

$_POST requests to https://teensgoglobal.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php blocked Yes Blocked by .htaccess file, a firewall, or the host (http code is 403 Forbidden).

But the IP address (46.30.212.107) and URL (https://app.imagify.io/) provided in that documentation, is the IP address correct? Because I tried whitelisting that IP address and the URL but it still gave the same error message and also when I do nslookup for app.imagify.io, I could see this DNS is linked to diff IP address.

    nslookup app.imagify.io
    Server:    127.0.0.53 Address:  127.0.0.53#53 Non-authoritative answer: Name:  app.imagify.io Address: 104.26.6.10
    Name:  app.imagify.io Address: 104.26.7.10
    Name:  app.imagify.io Address: 172.67.74.85
    Name:  app.imagify.io Address: 2606:4700:20::681a:60a
    Name:  app.imagify.io Address: 2606:4700:20::ac43:4a55 Name:  app.imagify.io Address: 2606:4700:20::681a:70a

So could you please let me know what is the correct IP address which needs to be whitelisted?

And also let me know why your tool is not optimizing the images properly even though other tools are able to optimize the same images to a good extent. Is your tool credible enough to save on my images and to speed up my website? Also let me know if webp version is supported by your tool or not.

    Hey @goglobal2016

    Thanks for sharing this.

You can activate WebP/AVIF in Imagify Settings (WebP creation is on by default) – https://imagify.io/documentation/enable-webp-images-works/

I was able to optimize some of these, this one is 49kB after optimization in WP plugin https://www.markonikolic.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/img-20250313-wa0005.jpg

And this one is (I use AVIF conversion) also around 50kB after compression and conversion (original format is well done) https://www.markonikolic.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/img-20250313-wa0002.jpg.avif

So, it would be best to focus on optimization process, once we resolve this, you can simply use WebP/AVIF as it should be quite good.

The problem with optimization seem to be related to the server configuration or firewall settings. But this is not block to our server, but to self-request (Admin AJAX in this case). It would be good to check security plugins and also to contact your host in order to see if you use any rule to disable/limit Admin AJAX calls (it could be performance plugin as well).

Let me know if you need any further advice, I am happy to help.

    Best Regards
    Marko

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for your suggestions and my hosting provider has modified the WAF rules blocking the Admin AJAX calls and now everything’s fine and I could be able to optimize the images on my store now.

Thanks again for your help. You may close the ticket.
