I just migrated my website from an subdomain to my main domain (with WPvivid), almost everything worked out except for images:

    • Images won’t show in media area
    • an image won’t show on home page
    • Background image wont show (which it does in the preview/editing view)

After some trouble shooting i noticed that:

    • Deactivating the blocksy companion plugin did make the background image appear (but i lost other features of course)

Hopefully you can help me, thanks in advance!

    Best, Sofie

There are many errors like these:

Mixed Content: The page at 'https://nofaresearch.com/en/home/' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure element 'http://update.nofaresearch.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/DarkBG-scaled.jpg'. This request was automatically upgraded to HTTPS, For more information see https://blog.chromium.org/2019/10/no-more-mixed-messages-about-https.html
nofaresearch.com/:1 Mixed Content: The page at 'https://nofaresearch.com/en/home/' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure element 'http://update.nofaresearch.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/BrainCell.png'. Install the plugin “Better Search Replace“. In all tables, search for http://update.nofaresearch.com/ and replace with https://nofaresearch.com/.

Thanks for that, that did quite something: “During the search/replace, 1 tables were searched, with 1010 cells changed in 1010 updates.” but unfortunately did not change the frontend of the website…

The “better search replace” does show this now: “DRY RUN: 69 tables were searched, 0 cells were found that need to be updated, and 0 changes were made.”. so that looks like it did indeed find everything.

I still see the update.nofaresearch.com in the “inspector” view..

    Do you have other suggestions?

Something else that I forgot to mention and that may help you for my support: on safari and firefox the website is working.. So it also seems to be a google chrome thing?

I edited some css files manually, so now the home page is sort of oke 🙂 For the headings of the other pages, would be nice to still get some help, for me its quite hard to find the right folders/css files which i need to edit.

    Thanks!

    .css

To add or override CSS: use the “Additional CSS” option in the customizer.  https://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/CSS#Custom_CSS_in_WordPress or at [site]/wp-admin/customize.php if you don’t have that menu option.

Use the Chrome Developer Tools or Firefox Developer Tools to help you see and test changes to your CSS and a couple of missed “update” links.

There is still a lot going wrong in the website I think.. Unfortunately i cannot use the CSS in Elementor as i do not use the pro version.

    Things that don’t work:

    • It is not a chrome specific problem anymore, that is fixed by manually changing the “update.nofaresearch” > “nofaresearch” in the elementor pages
    • Images that I upload are not visible
    • I cannot see new pages in FileZilla Elementor (/wp-content/uploads/elementor/css/page-[].css) > Publication/publicatie page
    • Somehow new pages are still referring to update.nofaresearch.com, nevertheless those pages are not made on that website..

    Hope you can help 🙂

Found it out! The uploaded mediafiles went to the right folder but the media library looked into the incorrect one. Changed that in Settings > Media and now i think everything works again 🙂
