Working on a site trying to resize gallery images for a client that has hundreds of very large (some over 5000px wide) photos on their site. I have followed the instructions on this page http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/image-sizes-and-resolutions/, and have cleared my cache over and over again, but my resized images aren’t showing as resized on the front end. The admin panel shows that they’re resized, however, when I visit my website and click on a thumbnail to view the resized image in lightbox, the image displays HUGE at its original uploaded size. Help? I have hundreds of images that need to be resized and really don’t want to have to go back through, download each image, delete each image and then reupload a smaller version… any idea why the built in functionality isnt working properly? Strangely, SOME of the images were resized. I’ve tried preforming the steps listed in the aforementioned article several times, in bulk, and individually. Each time I get a message to clear my cache, I save, and then it says the action was successful. I’m using Next Gen version 2.0.40.

Actually, I just took another look and it’s not resizing any of the images, although it is showing them as resized. Some images were just smaller to begin with.

alright, checked once again and it IS resizing SOME of the photos on the front end, but not others, even though they all read as resized in the admin panel…

@arlyon – Are you clearing the image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous?

I tried that, but it didn’t do anything. I cleared my browser cache too and I had our host purge their cache. Any other suggestions?

@arlyon – I would suggest checking for possible plugin conflicts but I am not so certain what would be affecting this particular piece of functionality that another plugin could affect … otherwise, you are welcome to submit a Bug Report (http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can take a look under the page at your site.

We will need log in and FTP credentials for your WordPress installation as well, please include those with the Bug Report.

    Thanks!

    Hey Cais,
Thanks for your suggestions. I checked the problem in other browsers and wasn’t having the same issue, so I figured it was some type of caching issue with chrome. After clearing my cache, my server cache, and even unplugging my modem for an hour, I finally purged my chrome cache from the tools panel – which worked. Sometimes its the simplest, but last thing you think of that fixes a problem…

@arlyon – I’m glad you were able to sort this out to be a cache issue, although I empathize at it being the last thing to check (I really despise having to clear browser caches at times *grin*).

The thing is that I was “shift+reload”-ing over and over again. I had to actually manually go in to the tools panel and purge the cache for it to work… weird, and WAY too simple to be the first thing I’d try – of course. Thanks again for your help. Problem solved 🙂
