Imagify still requires a helper plugin for lightbox functionality?

Hi,
I can’t reply to this topic anymore, but the issue is explained there: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/imagify-conflicts-with-wordpress-6-4s-new-lightbox-functionality/
I’ve tested it and Imagify’s current version, even after a year and a half, still requires that helper plugin — otherwise, WordPress’ native lightbox doesn’t work.
How come is this still a thing?!

We weren’t able to replicate the issue during our last check. Could you please share the exact steps you’re following and describe the behavior you’re seeing? That would help us understand it better.
Also, have you had a chance to test this with a basic WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-Four) to see if the issue still occurs? Sometimes, theme-related customizations can influence how images are handled.

It’s not easy for me to switch to a default theme on a live site (currently don’t have a stating environment set), but maybe this will help figure out what’s going on.

Just wanted to update you that the issue has now been re-opened on our GitHub tracker:
👉 https://github.com/wp-media/imagify-plugin/issues/758While I don’t have an exact ETA, the team is aware and it should be addressed in one of the future updates.
For now, the only reliable workaround is to continue using the helper plugin to keep the lightbox functionality working alongside WebP.
