Implement Gutenberg publish confirmation message

Hey,

I’m a WordPress developer looking to extend the editor to add an “Are you sure?” message when a post status switches to published. It looks like maybe things have changed recently as to how this happens under-the-hood, and I’m wondering what the best angle to go about implementing something like that would be with an eye towards it working in the long-term (as not to disrupt the end user). I know there’s a lot of documentation around building and extending blocks but I couldn’t find quite what I was looking for in terms of extending that core publish button. Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.
