Implementing phpBB into wordpress sidebar

Is there any way to get latest forum posts from a phpbb board to appear inside the sidebar? i’ve tried the WP-phpBB plugin that apparently does what i need it to, but every time i click on activate – it tells me its activated, but when the page refreshes it’s still in the deactivated state. there doesnt seem to be any support for that plugin anymore either..

any help, suggestions would be gratefully received!
