…and with listings per cycle at 1 it gets to 100% of 253 records progress and then hangs…
Hi @cuckoofairweb
Thanks for reaching out to us about this!
To help resolve this, could you please try the following steps:
- Ensure that the CSV file is formatted correctly according to the required structure for the import.
- Check if the file size of the CSV is not too large, as this might prevent it from uploading properly.
- Since the import stops at 98%, it might be helpful to check the last few entries in your CSV file to see if there are any inconsistencies or special characters that could be causing the import to fail.
If you’ve already tried these steps and the issue persists, please share a copy of the CSV file you are trying to import. This will help us investigate further.
Please let me know how it goes!
Best regards,
Hi thanks for the reply. Since my first post I have been trying to understand why it fails with no warning. Via trial and error so far I have discovered
When using an upload of 1 the import routine gets to 100% and then just hangs.
That a csv that ends on a valid record will typically fail – so I’ve added additional CRLFs at the end of the csv.
That even though a field is contained by double quotes if it contains text that contains a comma then that’ll fail on the upload.
That a too long excerpt is also rejected – it looks like you can type a long excerpt into the plug in on the wordpress site and it’ll be exported fine but it won’t be re-imported.
Finally, I now have a CSV with just 10 records in it that’ll pass the Test Import routine but then fails when I try a proper import.
How can I send you the csv?
Hi @cuckoofairweb
You can send that directly via email to [email protected] Please reference this thread when you contact us!
Hi well well well. This is an odd. Having spent some time basically getting down to importing individual records it turns out that if the short description contains a £ then it’ll PASS the Test import but FAIL the real import.
Hi @cuckoofairweb
Thanks so much for doing additional testing! I will ask the developer if it’s possible to address this for the actual import. Either way, the behavior should be consistent, so we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. This will take some time to research and address, so there may not be a quick answer on this.
