import draft and then publish changes post date?

    This is not a problem with the plugin.

    I import posts as draft and have a post date (which is past). When I change the status to publish (using php), the post date seems to change to the current date.

    Is there any way to keep the date the same as when I imported?
    Can I import with some other status to preserve the date in the import file?

    This is by wordpress itself, instead of importing as draft you can directly publish with the past date. Or you have manually edit the date again to past date after publishing.
