Import Export Not Working – JSON

Hello – I’m new to Elementor and trying it out to streamline my designs and delivery to my clients who I’m going to recommend Elementor too. The only issue is that whenever I Export a Page Template (json) and I Import it to a different site – it just comes up as blank white page. The json file seems it has content. I’m not sure where the error lies. Yes, I have gone through this page: https://elementor.com/…/my-page-is-blank-when-i-try-to…/ and I have made sure that each point are done.

I checked for error logs in the server – I have VPS – nothing. I’m using Elementor Free for now – but if doesn’t get resolved I would have to find another builder that works that I can use for me and for my clients.

Any help would be appreciated.

*edit – tried with Template Kit – same thing, just blank pages.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with exporting and importing Elementor templates. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Ensure that both sites have the same version of Elementor and WordPress installed. If the versions are different, there may be compatibility issues.
2. Check to make sure that the template you exported includes all the necessary elements and widgets. If any elements or widgets are missing, it could cause the page to appear blank.
3. Try importing the template using the WordPress importer rather than the Elementor importer see will the issue occurs again
4. If none of the above steps work, try disabling any plugins that might be conflicting with Elementor. You can do this by deactivating all plugins except for Elementor and then trying to import the template again.

1. yes, wordpress version is the same, same verion of elementor
2. yes, i even created a simple template, just container with text and background image – exported and didnt work.
3. tried exporting the page – impored using WordPress Importer – didnt work, blank page.
4. done this already, only elementor plugin is installed
if you want i can PM you my login and you check yourself.

Hi

Please, make sure that you use the same features on both sites under Elementor > Settings > Features. If you use containers, please make sure that feature is enabled on both sites. Also, clear all forms of cache and go to Elementor > Tools > Regenerate CSS and click the Regenerate Files button.

If that is not helpful, it would be helpful to send the screenshot if there is any error message or a short video of the steps that lead to this issue, so we can take a closer look and check the behavior.

Thank you! The only thing that worked is Regenerate Files! I thought I was going crazy and was about to give up on Elementor. Maybe this button should be somewhere more obvious.
