Hi

I have a working installation on a live site, that I want to replicate on a new site.

I have exported the json file from the Tools menu on the current site, but it fails on import on the new site with the error “Please upload a valid JSON settings file.”

Given I’m using the exact file that was downloaded, kinda at a loss as to what the issue is.

I’ve tried exporting and importing using both Chrome and Firefox, so it doesnt seem to be browser related.

Hi @essbee663 WordPress made an update in a recent version that disallowed by default .json file extensions. What you need to do is either use a plugin like this: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-extra-file-types/ to allow this file type or you can use a bit of code as described here: https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/how-to-allow-import-json-type-file

Thanks! Used the plugin (had to also enable the “Check only file extensions”) option as well to get it to work, but it’s done. 🙂 Thanks again…
