    Hi,

Background status: Our site has been going for a few years and over that time a lot has changed with plugins being added and removed and upgrade after upgrade of plugin, theme and WordPress. We have a few small glitches/conflicts that have crept in along the way. There is a Learner Management System on the site as well
Intention: I would like to do a clean WordPress installation, a clean installation of all current plugins being used, one at a time and applying their custom settings we have for each.
Question: If I export/backup the current site but select all the “Do not export …” Advanced Options except for “Do not export database (sql)” and then after doing the clean installation above, will I be able to restore this backup and theoretically restore all my users and their relevant stored roles, purchases etc. LMS course progress etc.?

Any advice or processes would be greatly appreciated.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

You need to select almost all options without database and theme.
After import, you might need to disable the theme or change it to the default one.
It can cause issues when it depends on a plugin or two that are not available.
You could keep the theme activated and resolve the issues one by one when you see the error message – make sure to enable WP_DEBUG in wp-config.php
