Today marks the release of Easing Slider v3.0.0! It’s been a long time in development, so we thank you for your patience.

Internally, Easing Slider v3.0.0 has been completely rebuilt. It is now more solid than ever, and structurally allows for some great future enhancements and support for upcoming WordPress versions.

Of course, with a major release comes teething problems, which we fully expect. Upgrading from v2.2 or greater to v3.0.0 should go smoothly, but if you run into any trouble please don’t hesitate to reply to this topic stating your issue.

Otherwise, expect to see lots of upcoming addons, future enhancements and more now and in the near future!

Hi Ciro, what page were you displaying the slider on?

Can you see your slider listed in the “Sliders” admin panel?

I got this error on my website, when i update your plugin. Please fix this:)

Hi @gramodrana, what version of PHP are you using? Your hosting should be able to tell you this.

It’s important that when using Easing Slider you are using PHP v5.3 or greater, as PHP v5.2 was discontinued in 2011 and support is no longer provided.

    Hi Matthew

The slider is in the home page bellow the header in the content area, and yes I can see the admin panel, the slider and slides.
Double checked the php code but it doesn’t work. BTW it worked fine, before the upgrade
    <?php if ( function_exists( 'easingslider' ) ) { easingslider( 1141 ); } ?>

Upgraded this am – and it crashed my site and server. This is an unstable revision.

Once I thought to come in here, I deleted the plugin and server comes back to life.

    Changing to another product.

@sandystyle, that’s very unusual. As this is an admin related issue, could you provide me with admin access to your site? Please send the details through our support form on our website – View Support Form.

Hi @archiseek, sorry to hear this. I’d be delighted to help and get the issue resolved for you. I’m sure it can be resolved swiftly. Could you provide more information on what has occurred? Did you receive any specific error messages?

@ciro, looks like you’re also using an add-on to add images from an external URL. As this would be considered a premium related issue, please contact me through the support form here so we can deal with this separate to the ww.wp.xz.cn forum. Premium issues can’t be dealt with here 🙂

I updated and all pages get white – even the admin panel. So I rename the plug-in via ftp and got access to the Site again. The plugin was shown als deactivated. I rename the plugin to the origin name and try to activate it, but WP (newest version) shows an fatal error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /plugins/easing-slider/easing-slider.php on line 58

So I install a version manually – but it has the same problems.

Thanks for the information @strengesmaedchen. This sounds like you’re using a version of PHP less than 5.3. Easing Slider unfortunately only has support for PHP 5.3 or greater.

I’ve added improved PHP version checking to v3.0.1, which I’m currently uploading as an available update. Please give it a try in around 30 minutes, and let me know if you still receive the error message above.

    Hi Mattherw,

Please let me know as soon as the message sent via support form.

    Update 3.01

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /WWWROOT/226303/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/easing-slider/easing-slider.php on line 92

and yes, you’re right. PHP Version: 5.2.17.

Update: I switched to PHP 5.3 – in 30 minutes I will see, if everything is fine again 🙂

    Hello Matthew

I’m not using an add-on. Also the images are stored in the same domain
    http://www.stanzione.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/slider_01.jpg
    http://www.stanzione.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/slider_02.jpg

    http://www.stanzione.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/slider_04.jpg

Also updated to version 3.0.1, re-added the images an still does’t show the slider

    TIA

    Ciro
