Importing CSV – Variation Dont have Description

Hi, I have a problem importing .CSV products, On variation products i have The description Column for all my products, But when i peform a product import Simple Products and General Variable Product have the description normal, But variation product appears without Description and .csv have the description on the same column on all..

Hey @yepezkjy18,

Are you using the Product CSV Importer and Exporter that is part of core WooCommerce? Or are you using a import plugin?

i tried for Default Woocommerce Importer. Also I tried only Updating the products that include only the description Column and nothing happens only updates the general description but the Variations appear without description

The default exporter/importer should work fine and update both the parent and variation descriptions. It may be an issue with the formatting of your CSV. If you want to provide a link or sample CSV you’re having issues with I can review it.

Says the file was deleted, but if you’re using the same exact SKU on the parent and variations, then that is the problem. They would need to have unique SKUs otherwise the import will skip the variations. You would see an error in the log after importing like “Invalid or duplicated SKU.” Similar thing would happen if you chose not to update the records too. If you specify no SKUs and only IDs, then it works fine.

SKUs need to be unique throughout WooCommerce. If you try to set them the same from the admin, you will get the same duplicate error.

Variations have a unique SKU, sorry the file share broke the link. here is the link http://sendanywhe.re/P5SVESNF. If you can see variation have the unique SKU and your own description in the cell. but importing Variation appear without description

Hey @yepezkjy18,

It looks like that most recent file link is invalid or expired when I try to access it. Can you try uploading it to a different file-sharing site or perhaps upload it to the Media section of your site and share the link from there so we can take a look?
