Importing DB

    Hi all,

    I have some problem importing my DB from a local sandbox installation to the server on 1und1 – the hoster.

    When importing the sql DB the following error occurs:

    Fehler
    SQL-Befehl:

    /*!40101 SET @OLD_CHARACTER_SET_CLIENT=@@CHARACTER_SET_CLIENT */;
    MySQL meldet: Dokumentation

    #1064 – You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘http://www.inimap.de/

    /*!40101 SET @OLD_CHARACTER_SET_CLIENT=@@CHARACTER_SET_C’ at line 1

    I have no clue, what to do here.
    The hoster said on the telephone: The client is responsible on its own to import data.
    I am stuck.

    Can anybody help please?

    Hi, what is the MySQL version of the source database and of the new database? This is a frequent error that happens when migrating from a newer MySQL version to older, some of the syntax is not supported. We usually use the WP Migrate DB plugin which has an advanced DB export option “Compatible with older versions of MySQL” that works most of the time.

    What version of MySQL are you running on your localhost installation? What version of MySQL is installaed on your hosting? If your localhost is using MySQL 5.6+ and your hosting company is using MySQL 5.5 or earlier, you have a problem.

    WordPress recently made a change to its database schema that resulted in backward-incompatible database backups. Specifically, if a WordPress datavase vackup was created on a system where MySQL 5.6+ was installed, the backup will generate errors and not load on systems using MySQL 5.5 or earlier. (Given their near-paranoia with PHP backward-incompatible changes, this DB schema chnage by the WP devs was pretty astounding.)

    If they are both MySQL 5.6+, then how did you generate the DB backup on localhost? Using phpMyAdmin can result in an invalid backup if the database is large, or depending on the PHP configuration, if localhost is Windows-based.
