I am building a website for a client that has been using My Calendar. I want to export their events from the old site and import them to the new site right into the same My Calendar plugin in order to prevent having to copy/paste 954 events one by one from the last 6 years. When I use the wordpress tools to export, it provides me a file but then when I use that to import to the new site, it says the events are already created. When I check the “manage events” option, there is nothing listed there. I did this same process successfully for their posts but the events don’t work. I don’t have access to their file manager because they are a school district in my area so couldn’t copy files that way. Is copy pasting my only option here?

Everything is updated and I have tried uninstalling the plugin and starting from scratch with no luck

What I would generally recommend in your situation is starting by importing all existing content from the site using a migration plug-in, such as All-in-one Migration, Duplicator, or similar plugins; then modify the new site to make the changes you want to make after doing the import. It sounds, however, like you may have already built the new site, and just need to import the events. That’s going to be more difficult – the WordPress Importer won’t do it, as it only imports WordPress data, and won’t pull in any of the custom table data from My Calendar.

You can use My Calendar Pro to import events, but otherwise the options can be a bit limited.

    Hi Joe,

Thanks for the response. Ya it was a full new build so no importing the previous site now unfortunately. I only got access to their old site now after the new site was completely built in order to make sure I was using the same plugins they were accustomed to previously. No worries though, I’ll speak with my client and can almost guarantee they won’t need anything beyond like 6 months ago at the most so it will be a lot less than I originally thought to transfer. I will keep this in mind in case I see anyone else using this plugin.

    Thanks for your time
    Crystal
