Importing from Squarespace problems

    I have imported my site from Squarespace. However, when I type in the web address it is still directing me to the Squarespace site??

    Also, when I view the site from the wordpress login, all of the posts are there on the main blog page. How do I also get them to appear under the category pages on the navigation bar?

    1. Did you update your DNS to point to your WordPress host?

    2. From Appearance->Menus, add category menu items. If you don’t see categories on the left, click “screen options” at the top to enable that block of menu items.

    Thanks so much! I did not update the DNS. However, I did find that in my Squarespace login. What do I change it to? The web address is staying the same, http://www.momsknowall.com.

    Check with the company from which you bought your domain. It looks like you purchased it through Squarespace, so you’ll need to ask them how you edit your DNS or change your name servers to those provided by your new host.

    Ok, I copied the wordpress url and am now forwarding from squarespace to that url: http://box5196.temp.domains/~momsknow

    I can’t transfer my SS domain until it has been 60 days, which it hasn’t. However, now when I type in the address http://www.momsknowall.com it shows this in the address field: http://box5196.temp.domains/~momsknow

    It is going to the wordpress site now, but the address is displaying weird. Is there a way to change that?

    Change the A record for your domain to the IP address of your new site. Also, add an A record for WWW. Do not use domain forwarding as you did.

    This is really not a WordPress issue. Please contact your host for assistance on these issues.
