• Looking for a tool to build and maintain a small but moderated list of related links for my site and found this Plugin. It seems to be what I need but I have a couple questions.

    1. Is there a way for Links Library to use the links I already have on the site’s Blogroll? How about existing categories? After installing the Plugin I did not see the existing links. Do I have to add them all in the Plugin admin?

    2. Is there a way to upload a list from a CSV file? I’m moving from another non-Wordpress site and have the old links from it’s database in a CSV text file. I have been looking at converting it to OPML but that import process into Links is less than optimal.

    1. It is not possible to directly share links between a site’s existing blogroll, which is managed by the legacy WordPress Link Manager, and Link Library. That being said, if you are interested in using Link Library instead of the old Blogroll / Links Manager, what you could do is:

    – First install Link Library 5.9 (https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/link-library.LinkLibrary_5.9.15.8.zip). This will give you the old Link Library functionality, which extended the old Link Manager. At this point, you should see the blogroll links you had before, but you will see that new functionality has been added.

    – Then, upgrade to the latest version. This will convert the old blogroll links to the new Link Library format, which uses Custom Post Types.

    2. Yes, you can upload links via a CSV file. The import / export section is found under the Global Options menu, in the last tab up top. An import template is provided in that section.

Let me know if you have further questions and please consider donating to support this plugin’s development.
