Importing Recurring payments

    Hi
    I see that there are warnings against importing recurring payments into givewp. Is that still a problem? If so, what is the issue with doing it? is it just not technically possible?
    If its not possible, what is the way you would recommending bringing in existing recurring donation payments into the system? Would they have to be set up from scratch again? is there a way to manually access the card info in order to reprocess or would you need to contact each of the people and start over?

    Hi @benmackler,

    Happy to clarify. Exporting and importing GiveWP data will be sufficient for migration if you don’t have recurring donations.
    However, our Import/Export tools do not support importing subscriptions. While individual donations are imported, they will not be connected to subscriptions. The only way to migrate subscriptions from one domain to the other is by doing a full database migration, which pulls over the GiveWP database tables and correctly associates the data within the database.

    You can import subscriptions manually following the procedure outlined at the bottom of this document: https://givewp.com/documentation/add-ons/recurring-donations/managing-subscriptions/ under the “Adding Existing Subscriptions to GiveWP”.

    Once the subscription has been added, you can then use the “Sync Subscription” button to import the renewals.

    But this process requires importing each subscription individually.
