    Hi,

Bit of a long shot I realise but I imported a single Post Type expecting that it will simply add to my existing one on my site.

However, it has deleted all my existing Post Types.

Is there any way to restore them from dB or elsewhere?

I have been working on this new site since Friday and not backed up yet..

    Finger crossed,

    Thanks,

    Matthew

It looks like all my posts are intact and I can reverse engineer most if not all of the Post Types but I want to hang on until I get a response to this..

Would this be a solution or will these be seen as different Post Types because of their ID etc. If so, please could you give any advice on getting round that (presumably directly in dB)

    Thanks,

    Matthew

Backed up, recreated the Post Types and all worked fine – panic over.

I’ll leave this up here in case it helps anyone else.

We don’t have itemized post type import into our CPTUI settings, it’s an all or nothing situation.

As long as you keep the slug the same, everything should be able to be recreated just fine. We don’t act on numeral IDs, and we don’t remove any posts or terms in post types or taxonomies, during processing of the import. We believe the content is yours, regardless of using CPTUI or not.

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for your quick response. My mistake, I thought it would add rather than replace. I’ve recreated now and all working.

Awesome. I think we have an open issue on exploring how to merge instead of outright replace, but it hasn’t been fully explored yet.
