Impossible to analyze?

EM-ESS version 1.2 on both ends.

On attempting to import, I’m getting:

Impossible to analyse the ESS Feed: http://designbuildlive.org/?em_ess=1

and looking at the XML file directly at that URL, I see:

XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
Location: http://designbuildlive.org/?em_ess=1
Line Number 2, Column 1:<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?>

And looking at the source code of that URL, it shows a blank first line. How do I get rid of that?

It’s not a server level thing, as other feeds from sites on the same server work fine.

I get the same error in the import window with http://environmentassoc.com/?em_ess=1, though that site does not have the blank first line and the XML displays properly. Perhaps it’s just because there are no events to import – when I enter an event, it works as expected. If so, the error message is misleading.
