Hi again, I hope you are well.
I’m here to just report another small issue with the Adminify Dark template that i use always ๐Ÿ˜

If you have the dark mode active then you create or edit a page or post, there is issues on how editor is showed. There is also a small “issue” if the language of WordPress is changed or maybe this is just a feature improvement.

To better explain you can watch this two short video:

    Thank you!
So umh improvement is just a suggestion to refresh the part that never get refreshed when default WordPress language is changed.

The other was an issue in the editor where some links and also alert when trashing a post or page is not readable.

One link above and two videos because I forget the second video part so I made a separate second video already linked in the previous message.

    Thanks again.

    Hi @peopleinside,
We have updated to the new latest version (4.1.10) of WP Adminify. Please update and check if some black text of Gutenberg block editor is visible in Adminify UI dark mode.

I tested on my website and also on a test instance: the issue persist.
How can you say the issue is resolved? IT’s not hard to me to test, i opened a web service that allow to create a temp WordPress install, installed Wp Adminify, activated the system theme (my PC is in dark mode) then just added a new article and “bam” the issue still be there same as I showed.

Also I see that system configuration are not used by default by adminify. By deafault adminify use the white light theme. Maybe will be better use the system theme as default to adapt to the PC theme.

    Hi @peopleinside

Sorry for the problem. Actually in our test we haven’t noticing the same problem. Can you please try different browser to login and test. If still it’s happening can you please record again and share it as the previous video expired. We will try to identify and find out the bug from your video again. Please make sure to test from a different browser first.

Great, I will post the video showing the issue from Firefox and from Edge.
Maybe you fixed the issue for the Dark Mode but not for the System mode.

Also I notice that when Adminify is installed force to use the light theme by default, why you don’t set to use the system mode by default that will be better on my point of view? System mode adapt the theme based on user OS theme. Why the light theme is forced by default? ๐Ÿ˜Š

I am able to reproduce the issue using the system mode in a PC that use the dark mode.

Hi, I hope you are well.
I see more then a week has been past and i didn’t hear you back and also the video I shared is no more available.

I hope you can fix the issue also on the system there where the issue still be present.
As i showed in the video will be not bad if as default you use system theme and not the light theme.

My OS theme is dark however when I install WP Adminify by default is used and forced the light theme, why don’t use the system theme as default settings?

Seems you fixed the editor issue for the dark mode but not for the dark mode when system theme settings are used ๐Ÿ˜Š as in my case where I use the system theme.

Thank you, have a good day! ๐Ÿ˜Š

    Hi @peopleinside,
We currently force the light theme by default because many of our WordPress users prefer or expect the light interface. Thatโ€™s why youโ€™re seeing it being applied even when your OS theme is dark.

But I completely hear you – using the system theme as default makes a lot of sense, especially for users like you who are already on dark mode OS-wide.

Weโ€™ve already started working on the system dark mode issue you reported (the editor part that still doesnโ€™t behave correctly when system theme is used).
By next Sunday, weโ€™ll have that issue fixed and release the update.

Thanks again for your patience and for the detailed feedback โ€” it really helps us improve. ๐Ÿ˜Š
    Have a great day too!

Hi @kakon4366, I hope you are well ๐Ÿ˜Š
Thank you very much for your kind and fast reply.

We currently force the light theme by default because many of our WordPress users prefer or expect the light interface.

If an user has the dark OS settings I don’t see why they should want the interface light, in any case is more correct, on my point of view just use a system default that adapt to the operative system preference then the user will also be able to force a different theme. It sound has more sense respect the operative system theme that decide to force light or dark mode. ๐Ÿ˜Š

But I completely hear you โ€“ using the system theme as default makes a lot of sense, especially for users like you who are already on dark mode OS-wide.

Correct, is cool to the an intelligent plugin that adapt to OS theme. This is what many website also do.

Weโ€™ve already started working on the system dark mode issue you reported (the editor part that still doesnโ€™t behave correctly when system theme is used).

    Hi @peopleinside,
    Hope you’re doing well ๐Ÿ˜Š

Quick update. We just shipped a new WP Adminify version that fixes the Gutenberg editor dark mode issue when the theme is set to System. So if your OS is in dark mode and Adminify theme is set to System, the editor should render correctly now. Readable text, proper alert colors, working links, the trash confirmation modal, all of it. Please update to the latest version and give it a try.

On your other point about making System the default theme: fair feedback, and I want to explain the choice we made.

Most WordPress users are used to the standard light WordPress admin. It’s what they see across every site, every tutorial, every screenshot they’ve come across. If Adminify shipped with System as the default, users on dark-mode laptops would suddenly see a dark admin the second they activated the plugin. For a lot of them that feels unexpected, like something broke. So we kept Light as the default to match what people already recognize.

The good news: once you set the theme to System (one click from Adminify settings), it sticks. From then on, Adminify always follows your OS preference automatically. Dark when your system is dark, light when it’s light. No need to touch it again.

So the behavior you want is fully there. It just takes one opt-in instead of being forced on everyone.

Please test the latest update and let me know if the editor issue is fully gone on your end. Thanks again for the detailed videos and patience. Feedback like yours genuinely makes the plugin better โค๏ธ

    Have a great day!

Thank you for the update. The fix work!
About don’t making System the default theme I don’t agree but it’s not a big issue as, as you told, once set to use the default system this never need to be setup every time again.

Why an user that use operative system dark theme should be disappointed to see a system that adapt to the system theme and also allow to change this manually? In any case it’s not a problem was just a suggestion.

Thank you very much, I’m happy to see the editor fix also on system theme.
