Improved dropdowns dont work on dropdowns

hey,

we have a website with many taxonomy filters, some of them have many terms.

we followed the instructions here: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/search-within-drop-down-filter/

to enable Improved dropdowns in experimental settings and we can use this option in all other widgets (checkboxes, radios, labels) except dropdown

the website is fully updated, to the last versions.

any ideas?

Can you please send the link to the page with the issue so we can check it? It can conflict with third-party plugins or caching.

in the admin the Term Search option is hidden

we have enabled it for the label widget “Τοποθεσία” and also as a “hack” using css (display:none -> display:block) show it in the admin for “Νομός” and enabled it, but nothing changed.

Unfortunately, it needs authorization, so we couldn’t check anything on the page, we just see the message about authorization.

We have checked it, and it seems like you have some issue on the site with the select2 – https://prnt.sc/Y-BnpGxWAxRA

We’d recommend using clean WP with the default theme and our Plugin, then add other plugins to check which one is causing this issue.

hey,

its seems that disablin UsersWP plugin, select library is loaded properly in the frontend. have to check more to see what breaks there.

but, in the backend, in filter set settings, Term Search option its still hidden for dropdowns. maybe its a different problem?

Hi @eimaste

We had to contact the development team about this, and yes, unfortunately, there is no search field option for dropdowns. This search field is provided by the Select2 library and not created by the developers like for other options where you can enable it.

Therefore, all you can do is hide it for the desired filter using custom CSS.
