    Hi!

Thanks for your post and sorry for the trouble!

How are you getting to the default text editor? Are you using the “Classic Editor” plugin or similar?

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

Maybe I explained it wrong, but it is this button you can see.

    Hi,

unfortunately, the URL for that image (https://webheld.nl/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Button-tablepress.png) is only giving me a 404 Not Found error 🙁

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

Can you see it now? 🙂

    Hi,

Thanks for that! Now I can see it, yes!

Unfortunately, I can not yet see why this happens for you. I can not replicate this when using the “Classic Editor” plugin, so the question is, which plugin is responsible for loading that classic WordPress editor here. For that, please get in touch via the yellow “Send us an email!” button at the bottom of https://tablepress.org/pricing/

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

This is our selfmade theme as website builders.
So that is no plug-in and not the problem I think?

Do you know something else where it depends on?

    Hi,

ok, then some deeper investigation is needed. Can you please check the browser’s error log console in the Developer Tools (available via the browser’s menu) for error messages?

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thank you Tobias for your help!
    This is the error log:

    Hi,

ok, this indicates a JavaScript problem. Unfortunately, I don’t see what’s causing it.

You could maybe try turning the button of by installing the small custom plugin from http://tablepress.org/downloads/extensions/tablepress-disable-editor-toolbar-button.zip

If TablePress is the cause for this issue, doing this should remove this error (but you would then have to manually insert the Shortcode for the table, e.g. via copy/paste from the “All tables” screen of TablePress or the “Edit” screen of a table).

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
