    Hi,

I noticed that when users submit enquiries on the website and then I export the inbound messages, sometimes the message field shows the message written by the user when I do the export of the entries and sometimes it doesn’t.

I submitted some internal tests and I notice that if I use the space bar when I write on the message field, then the message field doesn’t appear on the export but is still recorded within the plugin.

Have you heard about this problem before?`

    Hi,

okay.. this is the URL of the site: https://www.santhemresidences.co.uk/
We sent a few test submissions and sometimes all the entries were exported and the next time a field was missing. We noticed that if we used the space bar when filling out a field, the field would not be exported.

If you need more information please let me know

I’ll wait to hear from you

Do you mean you fill in a field with just a whitespace, or with some text and whitespaces?

    Hi Takayuki,

I meant to say fill in a field with text (like this line), but then if I start a new line, the field isn’t exported.

For example, the following will be fine:
    Hello, this is a test

But if I write the following:
This is (and then start a new line)
    a test

    Then the field isn’t exported

I hope it makes sense, if you have any questions, please let us know

What application do you use to open the exported CSV file?

    Thread Starter SiteBites

    (@sitebites)

    Hi Takayuki,

The file automatically downloads in a CSV format and I open it with the standard Microsoft Excel.

Should I try to open it with something different? if so please advise

Try using another app, such as Google Sheets.

    Hi Takayuki,

    Many thanks for your reply.

We’ll try that, do you why this could affect the exported data?

    Plugin Author Takayuki Miyoshi

    (@takayukister)

No, it doesn’t affect exported data. It is a matter of application that reads the data.

    Happy Friday Takayuki!

I have another question, when I go to Flamingo > Incoming Messages and I see the list of all queries, in the Subject column, I see [your-subject] and then in the From column, I see [your-name]<[ your-email] >. How can I change this so that it at least shows in the From column the name and email of the person submitting the query?
