Include excerpt or description field?

    Hello. I’m wondering if it’s possible in the category shortcode or all_packages shortcode to include either the excerpt or description field in the display? I’ve searched the shortcode documentation but I’m not seeing anything… is this possible?

    Here’s the shortcode I’m using so far:

    [wpdm_category id=”geocaching” cols=1 toolbar=”0″]

If yes, you can check the shortcodes here, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/short-codes/, if any shortcode has link template availability, then you can customize the link template with description template tag. Please check the available template tags here ,https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/templates/template-tags/

    Hi @nriddhi, thank you, I cannot see a parameter in any of the shortcodes to include the file excerpt or description field… am I missing something?

    However, it looks like if I assign a specific template, for example template=”link-template-default-ext” which includes the excerpt field, that seems to work.

    Just checking there definitely isn’t a parameter to just include the file description directly in the normal shortcode?

    Shortcode may have not the description enabling parameter. But you can customize the link template for showing the description for the certain files. I hope you have understood now. Please kindly check and let me know.
