Another detail – no plugin or WordPress core updates (even updates to WP-Spamshield itself!) will work unless I disable WP-Spamshield

Hi @iotus,
We received your support request at the WP-SpamShield Support page. We ask that users not post duplicate support requests, as that only reduces our ability to provide timely tech support. Thanks!
Just a quick note regarding your follow up comment:
That’s not something we’ve ever seen or had a report of. We’ll help you address that issue as well though.

It also increases the chance of others who have the problem being able to search via google and find solutions, but noted, I will refrain from doing so in the future.
Hi Geoff,
We don’t provide support via the forums here, so unfortunately that probably won’t help to get a support topic listed in Google. The best way for WP-SpamShield users to find solutions is to check our Troubleshooting Guide and FAQs, and then contact our tech support team if those don’t solve the issue. That info (along with links) are all in the plugin’s settings page, and in the plugin documentation.
Just a heads up — we responded back to you within a few minutes of your initial support request, and we haven’t heard anything back since then. Please check your email (and possibly spam folder). If you get back to us, we will be happy to help you resolve any issues.
