Hi @nworbnosgihderf,
I haven’t seen any mentions of Smart Manager (free or pro) so either no one else has experienced this or it hasn’t been reported. Either way, not good.
The first thing to do is to make sure you’re on WooCommerce 3.1.1. The previous version had an issue where slashes were being added to tab content and it seemed to happen only when there were multiple WooCommerce-extending plugins active. So make sure you’re on 3.1.1 and then try adding a single tab, updating the product via Smart Manager, and then checking if the tab was wiped.
If the issue is still occurring with v3.1.1, I will download the free version of Smart Manager and see if I can reproduce and fix it.
Sorry for the loss of data – hope it didn’t affect you too much.
Cheers,
Kevin.
Hey @yikesitskevin,
Thanks for getting back to me! We had issues with the backslashes too so glad that’s been resolved. It’s when products are edited in Smart Manager it just clears all the tabs.
We’re on the latest version of WooCommerce and Smart Manager.
Thanks in advance!
Hi, @yikesitskevin, did you get a chance to look at this?
Thanks!
Hi @nworbnosgihderf,
Whoops! This slipped off my radar. I have the Smart Tabs manager installed I just haven’t tested it. I’m testing now.
Sorry about that,
Kevin.
Hi @nworbnosgihderf,
I’ve just updated a few product’s names using the Smart Manager interface and I didn’t lose the tabs that were associated with those products. The only thing I updated was the product name and I did this from the default “Smart Manager” spreadsheet-looking screen accessible directly from the Products CPT menu. Besides using the PRO version, are you doing anything differently (e.g. changing other data, editing through a different screen, etc.)?
Let me know,
Kevin.
Hey @yikesitskevin, Thanks for getting back to me. It’s more when people add columns into Smart Manager and start editing things that tabs begin to disappear. Mainly back-orders.
Thanks again!
When I try to add a custom meta column I get the message:
>Custom fields available only in PRO version
I am able to add other standard fields – like width, height, etc. – and they update fine and I do not lose tab data.
It seems like something specific to Smart Manager’s handling of Custom fields.
I’m not sure how to continue from here.
