Incorrect Time on Imported Posts
-
When we import feeds from ultimateclassicrock.com/feed or loudwire.com/feed the posts import but end up as scheduled instead of published as the time is off by 5 hours. My time is setup correctly on my website. Is there something I can do to correct this?

Thanks a bunch for the head up Cjoles,
I will take a closer look and do some tests , then get back to you asap. Will first try to replicate this and see if it happens at my end and try to find a work around or a tweak/bug-fix/(whatever is appropriate) if it’s the case, then hit you up here with an update, will either was get back to you.
Cheers,
The RSS Post Importer NerdI can confirm the same. All my feed imports regardless of the source are scheduled for publishing with 5 hrs + some interval delay of 5-30 min. This happened both with version 2.0 and V. 2.0.1. Tried on different servers and with different rss sources. All posts are delayed by 5+ hours which corresponds to teh difference between my local time and UMT.
I ended up having to disable the plugin as it was locking up my website.
please advise when the time differential is corrected and then I will enable the plugin and see why it is locking up my site.Do you have any update about this bug? Would be great to remove this 5+ hour delay.
Not yet and I’m still trying to replicate what you describe. I’ll post a shout out here once we figure out what’s going on and how to fix it.
Best,
The RSS Post NerdI you need more details to help you replicate it, please let me know what kind of information you may need. I see this problem every day on my server, so I can send you screenshots or any other details upon your request.
Regarding the timestamp issue, we just take the time from the feed item and save that in the post.
That in turn uses the server’s time zone which can be different from WordPress’s time zone. In your case, your server’s time zone may be at GMT.
You can use the solution described here, since we also use the SImple Pie library for fetching feeds: http://simplepie.org/wiki/tutorial/changing_timezones_in_a_timestamp , I’ve added this to our roadmap but there’s a lot of things on our roadmap so, I can’t tell you when it will make it to production so I’ll strongly suggest to move on with this work-around.
Thanks,
The RSS Post Importer NerdWait, this is not resolved. I was able to install the simplepie core plugin, but have no clue where to make the entry (Use the date_default_timezone_set() function with a timezone parameter from the timezone page. This should be set before PHP’s date() or SimplePie’s get_date() is called. )
Unless it is a configuration in a plugin, I’m lost.
Please advise.Hey Cjoles,
Happy to set this up for you , if you are a premium user and don’t mind setting up an account for me to check your blog and set this up, please send me the details via email and an admin account credentials.
Thanks,
The RSS Post Importer NerdPlease don’t do that. When you ask for admin and/or FTP access, then you’re really going too far and that’s not cool.

If you are given admin credentials, you are potentially liable for any potential damage that maybe caused, not only by yourself but anyone accessing the system. Even if you do not provide warranty with your own product.
Unless you’re willing to take responsibility for that user’s installation from now on (and they should NOT let you do that) then please do not ask or suggest that someone provide you those admin or FTP details.
You can provide assistance here, ask for log data, make recommendations, and suggest changes, but do not seek admin or FTP access. That’s just not safe for anyone involved.
Got it James, my bad. Thanks for the head up.
I fully understand what you mean.
Thanks for understanding! 🙂
