I took an order over the phone yesterday from a customer. This was an order from a client whom I have already been working with. I was/am signed in as admin when I took her order. For some reason, it randomly generated a commission for one of my affiliates who is not connected to this client whatsoever. Please advise.

    Hey @chrissantora,

Thank you for reaching out! From the sounds of it, you may have used this affiliate’s referral link on your browser sometime in the recent past, thus having the tracking cookies set for this affiliate.

To confirm this, I recommend you to open the developer tools of your browser and check the saved cookies.

In Chrome – navigate to your website, open the developer tools (View > Developer > Developer Tools) > Application (from the tabs at the top of the developer tools) > Storage (left column) > Cookies > Click on your site’s link from the list.

In Safari – navigate to your website, open the developer tools (Develop > Show Web Inspector) > Storage (from the tabs at the top of the developer tools) > Cookies.

In the cookies list, please look for “slicewp_aff” and “slicewp_visit”. If these cookies exist, that’s why the order has resulted in a commission. Technically, in this case, the order was referred.

Please try the above and let me know if this was the case.

    Thank you and best wishes,

    Mihai
