Most of the templates are based on standard HTML, so you can add your own style="" attributes or class="" modifiers to the templates directly to change the font sizes.
Some of the templates are based on javascript provided by Amazon, these often have lots of settings to change the colours, not sure about font sizes though.

Also there is a setting in the settings page to make all links open in a new page just enable the New Window Link setting.
Unfortunately Amazon do not provide product description information via the web service, only what they call ‘Editorial Content’. You can add this by installing one of the Amazon Link Extra plugins.
