Add this code to the Customize > Custom CSS section and check it works or not.

Try this one instead of the previous code. Clear cache or use a different browser to see the changes.

    max-width: 700px !important;
}

Use the below code instead of the previous one and check it works or not.

    width: 700px !important;
    max-width: 700px !important;
