Hi @faithfuljourneyrv ,
To increase the insurance value for your package, you’ll need to log in to your USPS account and configure the insurance settings there. The WooCommerce Shipping extension doesn’t have an option to adjust the insurance directly—it’s managed through your USPS account.
But how is my USPS account connected to the WooCommerce shipping extension? There isn’t a way that I saw to link the two.
Hi there,
For USPS shipping labels created in WCS&T or WooCommerce Shipping, there aren’t any options to add additional insurance coverage.
We can recommend the free Norton Shopping Guarantee with Package Protection for WooCommerce plugin for additional insurance coverage, as you can use it alongside WCS&T or WooCommerce Shipping. This plugin give shoppers the option to purchase additional coverage and they pay for it, not the store owner, so it doesn’t affect the shipping label creation. However, I believe that coverage only goes up to $1000.
For higher insurance coverage, another option would be using the Stamps.com API extension, as it offers extra insurance when creating shipping label (through Parcel Guard, not USPS) and I believe that their coverage goes up to $10,000 per package.
I hope this helps and let us know if you’ll have any further questions!
