    Hello,

I have been using this plugin for a very long time and everything is working perfectly.

My site is currently “finished”. By that I mean that I have created all the necessary categories, tags and CTPs.

When I create a page or an article, I find this page without problem, thanks to the search engine of my site. It is also well referenced on search engines like Google.

So, I am wondering about the “build the index” option. When should I build the index? Do I still have to activate this option regularly?

Also, should I do this when I create a new category? A new tag or a new CPT ? When I clear the cache of my plugin (WP super cache)?

I ask myself this question because everything works fine without my needing to click on the “build the index” button

    Thank you !

In general you don’t have to rebuild the index; Relevanssi recognizes most of the changes to the posts automatically. There are few exceptions, though. The most important is that if you modify the taxonomy terms without saving the post, those changes are not noticed.

So if you modify posts without saving them, rebuilding the index is necessary. It’s also a good thing to rebuild the index occasionally as a maintenance thing, I do generally do it once per year or so on my sites.

Thank you for your answer Mikko!

    Everything is clear to me.

Just to understand. I do not understand how it is possible to modify an article or a page without saving it? Do you mean save it as a draft?

I mean a case where you for example rename a tag. That change won’t be reflected in the posts tagged with that tag.
