Hi @editorialteam – the Index template is what’s called a “fallback” template: it won’t actually end up being used on most sites, since a more specific template such as Home, Archive, Search, etc. will automatically be applied first. It’s there solely as a fallback, to display any content to which no other template applies. In practice, if you’re not doing anything “fancy” in this theme, the Index template won’t be used. But it’s a required file in block themes like Twenty Twenty-Three.
