Individual Custom Coupon Codes

    I’m considering upgrading to Pro because I have a very specific need, and Pro might handle it, but I need confirmation.

    I will be selling passes to upcoming events in-person, and directing people who purchase the passes to my website to choose a date and time. I see that I can set up a coupon code to reduce the cost of the booking to $0.00, but that is open to abuse. What I really need is to be able to set up unique codes that I can attach to each pass that I sell, good for only one use.

    Each event maxes at 100 people, so I’d rather not manually create 100 codes for each event (though I will if I have to). The main concern is: can coupon codes be limited to one use only?

    yes, you can set the total limit of coupons;

    You can limit a code to one use only, however, you can’t create a coupon with 100 uses and limited to use of 1 coupon per person, if that’s what you’re asking.

    Since you are willing to create 100 coupon codes, then yes you can do that :). In fact, with some SQL and maybe some excel skills you can probably import them directly to the coupons table via the adminer plugin or phpMyAdmin if you can create random coupon codes somehow.

    Thanks for the replies, guys. I discovered, a few hours after I posted, that there was a test site set up, and I played with it and learned about the one-use-only aspect of the codes. Which is awesome. Then, rather than post back here, I let impatience get the better of me, bought the PRO upgrade, and figured out how to create 5,000 unique 5-character codes, import them into Numbers, export them as a CSV, and then import the CSV into the coupons table with phpMyAdmin 😀

    I was going to come back this morning and crow about my success but you guys beat me to it 😉
