    I didn’t want to keep it activated because then the site would be unaccessable.

    Either infinite or very slow load.

    No problems here. Loads in 5.9 seconds. Screenshot. Check your Internet connection?

    Must be a regional problem with rawgit CDN then. My internet is just fine.

    This plugin only uses that CDN for certain enhancements. If you know you don’t need the features it provides (the PDF export functionality), then you can safely remove it from being loaded on your theme by following the directions listed under the “How do I remove unneeded stylesheets or JavaScripts that this plugin adds?” heading in the FAQ.
