Infinite verification loop

Hi,
I am trying to get Google Site Kit working, if I try setting it up it will show me “Verification succeeded.” in 4 new properties https://www.google.com/webmasters/verification/. However the oauth process keeps looping and the plug-in will still show “Sign in with Google to configure Site Kit”. I have tried disabling plugins and switching themes and tried setting up via an incognito window. I even manually cleared .htaccess except for wp default rules to make sure no caching is conflicting. If I use the same Google account and same WordPress setup on other websites it goes flawlessly.
