Initial website load VERY slow

    The first time my website loads it is incredibly slow – like 10-20 seconds slow. Once loaded, everything is very fast between pages and site works as expected.

    Once the server session is closed, though, and another one is started, it’s back to the slow loading site again.

    Disabling Shield makes the site load/work as expected. This has been tested on multiple networks, wireless fibre and 3G, with the same result.

    What could be causing this initial slow loading?

    When you say “server session is closed” what do you mean exactly?

    I can’t think of a single, definite reason that it might be loading for 10-20 seconds – I’ve never heard of this.

    Have you tried disabling other plugins while Shield is active and running the same tests?
