I’ve just noticed that after the latest UI refresh, the Inline Titles have disappeared within the Flexible Content fields. Is this a bug or is there now a setting to show them?

I’m referring to the titles within “acfe-layout-title-text”

    Regards, Ian.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the feedback!

Since ACF 6.5+, ACF integrated the “Edit Title” and “Hide Layout” features to its core. They are the equivalent of legacy ACF Extended “Inline Title Edit” and “Toggle Layout” features.

To maintain compatibility and avoid redundant features, since ACF Extended 0.9.2, the legacy “Inline Title” & “Toggle Layout” features were migrated to the new ACF core logic.

If you had these legacy features enabled in your previous ACF Extended version, the migration should be seamless and happen when you update the posts that display the Flexible Content in the WP Admin.

Here is a video demo showing what happens when upgrading from ACF Extended 0.9.1.1 to 0.9.2 with the legacy “Inline Title Edit” & “Toggle Layout” features enabled, and how the migration is done.

Note that to Edit Title & Hide Layouts, you now have to click on the “3 dots” icon in the layout handle.

    Hope it answers your question!

    Have a nice day!

    Regards.

    Thanks for the response Konrad.

If I open the three dots I can ‘rename’ each layout — and that adds a new label as expected but the issue that I cannot resolve is, the labels are not set by default anymore when they used to.

Is it possible to set a default label based on the layouts name?

    Regards, Ian.

    Hello,

Ah I see what you mean.

This is the default behavior of the ACF Flexible Content since ACF 6.5+. The ACF “Edit Title” logic is kinda of different from the leagcy ACFE “Edit Title”, and unfortunately it is not possible to prefill that input text, since ACF consider anything inside it as a custom title.

You can try to suggest that improvement to ACF, maybe they’ll improve that logic.

I hope it answers you question!

    Have a nice day!

    Regards.
