Are you using the “add media” button (classic editor) or an audio block (gutenberg)?
gutenberg – is that the cause?
No, that’s not the cause. Are you inserting an audio block?
No sure what you mean. I’ve uploaded my mp3, then used the ‘add media’ feature that creates this code:
[audio mp3="http://www.momshousecleaning.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/moms.mp3"][/audio]
I see the player just fine on the Edit page, but even going to “preview’ I no longer see the player, just the code.
The same thing happened when I copied a player from the About Us page to this spot (index-bottom), and it also happened when I downloaded a random audio player plugin.
Let’s try this:
This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.
If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for JUST you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site. You can then use its admin bar menu to turn on/off plugins and themes one at a time. See https://make.ww.wp.xz.cn/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/ or https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/ for more information.
I may have figured out why it’s showing the code — or maybe it’s unrelated.
I added a simple <p="aligncenter'> and WP changed my < into the symbol and is now displaying the entire code tag on the front page.
This website is driving me insane!!!
