    Hello,

I am a complete novice at website building and only took over the company website about 6 months ago.

Since updating WordPress and then updating to WP Edit, I have had several problems and I’m not sure how to solve them. I could no longer at images to posts, so I updated to WP Edit, and now I can’t really seem to do a lot any more.

I have spent hours trawling through different forums to try to help me but I’m not really getting anywhere. I have tried deactivating all plug-ins and reactivating them one at a time but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Is there something blindingly obvious that I’m missing?

    Thank you!

    Welcome @buzzbuzz,
    Thanks for posting your question.

Well, the 3.9 update of WordPress included a ton of editor configuration changes… primary when coding editor addons. The API was altered dramatically. This affected a lot of plugins and themes.

It sounds very much like you are encountering a javascript error, which is preventing the rest of the page from functioning properly.

Here is what we are going to do:

    1) Deactivate ALL plugins.
    2) Switch to the default 2015 theme.
    3) Manually empty your browser cache.

Once these steps are performed… let’s log out of WordPress, and log back in again.

Now, go test the editor. Is everything working properly?
It should. If it is not, we have major problems.

Next, reactivate your theme.. again, manually clear the browser cache. Again, check the editor for proper functionality.

Lastly, begin reactivating your plugins.. one at a time. After each one, manually empty the browser cache.. and check the editor.

Eventually, you may notice one which is causing issues. If you do, please let me know that plugin name.

Okay… get to work; and let me know what you discover 🙂
