Hey Jessica,
Sorry for any issue!
Would it be possible to see the feed on a page that is having the error firsthand? I can likely determine the problem then. If you’d like, we can coordinate a time for me to take a look.
– Craig
Craig,
Absolutely! The page is https://www.shopsimplyac.com/ (at the very bottom)
Hoping you can figure out what’s going on here.
Thanks for your time,
Jessica
Thanks Jessica!
It looks like the JavaScript file for the plugin isn’t being included on the page but I’m not sure if that explains the other issues that are occurring.
I have some ideas that might help:
1) Enable the setting “Enqueue JS file in Head” setting on the “Customize” tab, “Advanced” area
2) In that same area, enable the “Disable JS image loading” setting.
I also noticed that there is a JavaScript error occurring on the page related to nav.js: https://prnt.sc/r7q7vy. Again I’m not sure if this explains the issue though.
If you’d like you can disable the feed again and I can take a look at what the page is like when it’s inactive.
I’m wrapping up for the night but I’ll check back tomorrow.
– Craig
Craig,
Thanks. I’ve done as you suggested in the settings. When logged out, I can see the Instagram feed now. However, the other problems persist and the footer is also not showing now.
I will disable the feed for now, so you can check it out tomorrow and see how it’s supposed to look.
Thanks again!
Jessica
Thanks Jessica!
This one’s looking like a tricky one! Can you enable the feed again and also clear any caches that you might be using? Wp Super Cache for example?
I’ll take another look.
– Craig
Craig,
No problem. I have enabled and cleared all cache.
Jessica
Thanks again!
Would it be possible to exclude the sb-instagram-2-2.min.js JavaScript file from being minified/compressed/optimized? It looks like there is an error coming from the plugin’s file that normally doesn’t occur. I think this is preventing the code that creates the slider and other things on this page from working correctly.
The code is already minified so I don’t think it will have much of an impact on your site’s performance.
Craig,
No problem. How can I exclude the sb-instagram-2-2.min.js file only?
Jessica
I suppose it might not be WP Super Cache doing this. Do you have any other plugins that optimize or cache files in use? Can you disable them to see if it fixes the issue? If it does, we can look into excluding the JS file for our plugin.
Actually, there was another plugin that had browser caching enabled (PageSpeed Ninja). I disabled caching option in settings and everything appears to be working now. Can you please confirm?
Yes! It’s looking good for me now as well. Are there setting to customize how JavaScript files are optimized? You can try configuring those to see which one causes the issue.
Excellent, thank you. The settings are just to enable or disable. Since it’s working now, we will just stick with WP Super Cache for caching.
Appreciate your time and help on this Craig!
No problem!
Have a good Friday.
