Facebook plugin (for Facebook pixel) slowed the site down to 30-60 seconds (found that this pluigin is the issue after a few hours, I have a VPS and tested everything before findoung out that this plugin was the issue). Deactivated and will delete it.

    This is not WooCommerce issue.
This is the plugin developer issue.

Will try to find other ways to add Facebook pixel, to deferr it, a way that does not affect the site speed in the future.

I understood it can be installed with GTM:

    1. Do you have instructions to install Facebook pixel with GTM (for GTM and pixel)?
    2. Do you have instructions to defer it?

    3. If I defer it, when there is an issue I hope the site is not affected, for example it allows the user to finalize the order without freezing the vizitor on the cart page without possiblity to move to checkoyut/finalize it? If the pixel has an issue and delays runing its script with 1 minute, it does not freeze the page, it allows the visitor to move from the pate in 5 sec and not wait for 1 minute?

    Thank you.

It is your suggestion from https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/it-causes-the-checkout-page-to-slow-down/ to open a new ticket

Hi, thank you for opening a ticket!

The original thread was a part of a known issue with an older version of the plugin, are you using the newest version?

    Regarding your questions:

    1. We do not have any official instructions on installing/using the plugin with GTM
    2. There are no instructions on deferring the plugin, as this is not recommended behaviour and may cause issues with event tracking etc.
    3. Like I mentioned, this may cause issues with the plugin behaviour and is not optimal

We would like to look into what could be causing the delay on your site – can you share your system status report, as well as any plugin-related issues from your debug.log using PrivateBin?

Also, you can check out the Meta pixel for WordPress plugin if you only want to add the Pixel to your site.

    Kind regards,
    Marija

    Hi

This plugin was installed and it affected the site, 30 sec – 1min for every click https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/official-facebook-pixel/.

I lost 1-2 hours searching for the issue and discussing with hosting company.
I deactivated your plugin and it worked perfectly, after, 1 click in 1 sec.

You admited in other discussions here that this issue was caused by the Facebook plugin.
WooCoomerce happiness engineers admited in my discussions with them, that there is an issue with your plugin which you were working on to solve (it took I if I remember well, more than 1 day for the plugin developer to solve it).

I am a little scared of it happenning again anytime.
I cannot use again the plugin, sorry.

The issue was not solved immediately by the plugin developer, for many hours/1 day.

Deffering the plugin means that the short visits before the whole page load, will not be recorded. It is better than having problems with freezing 30 sec – 1 min the site for every vbisitor’s click.

Can you recommed solutions to connect Meta Pixel on business.facebook.com, in “Data sources” using a connection to “Google Analytics”?
    – I tried to install the Meta Pixel with GTM but it does not connect in “Data sources”.
I used “tagging server”, because I do not have GTM installed on the website.
On the website I have the plugin Google Analytics plugin.
    – I tried to install Meta Pixel in “Data sources” connecting it to Google Analytics, but it does not have a matching event to measure conversions properly. It has only page visits and engagement, not add to cart/checkout.

Can you recommend how to install it through GTM or better in Data sources with Analytics, please?

    Thank you.
I appreciate your efforts and recommendationss.

    Hi,

As I mentioned, the issue was presenet a previous update, which was handled with the following update, and we don’t expect it to occur again.

Regarding your questions, it’s best to follow Meta’s official documentation as well as the documentation of the plugin you are using when trying to connect the Pixel.

The forum specializes in Facebook for WooCommerce plugin related support, so if you have any further questions or issues on the Meta end, it would be best to reach out to Meta’s support directly, via the “Help” bar in the Commerce Manager.

    Kind regards,

    Hi,
    Thank you, very interesting article.

Does Facebook guarantees, 100%, it will not happen again?
Can you please explain the methods implemented to avoid it happening again?

Was it deferred/async? If not, there is a small chance of 0.5% to occur once at 2 years?

I am a little scared of installing it again, after e few hours/1 day of affecting the site critically.

    Thank you.
    Have a great day.

    Hi,

There are multiple factors to take into account here, and not everything is in our control. Rest assured we will strive to create stable uploads moving forward.

The updates contain proprietary information, which we are not at liberty to share.

All that being said, the updates go through a thorough testing process as well, so this isn’t something you need to worry about in the future.

    Kind regards,
    Marija
