WordPress.com is not the same as ww.wp.xz.cn. You can’t install new themes on WordPress.com.
This instruction set came from the ww.wp.xz.cn link … how would I otherwise activate it on ww.wp.xz.cn?
If I had paid for domain mapping on wordpress.com, should I ask for a refund?
ww.wp.xz.cn is self-hosted, meaning you would need to install the WordPress software on a server of your choosing, either a pay-for host or a server you own and configure.
Having your site on WordPress.com means you don’t have to pay for hosting, but some ww.wp.xz.cn features (like installing custom themes) are not available.
If you intend to set up a self-hosted WordPress installation elsewhere, then you wouldn’t need domain mapping to your WordPress.com site.

The install theme option is gone in a self-hosted installation of WordPress. Themes used to appear as soon as they were copied up into wp-content/themes but now they do not. WP 3.2.1

Hi I posted a similar topic elsewhere but through searching found this thread and thought I would add on….I hope nobody bites me! I feel its related.
I have a wordpress site (http://bblivingfit.wordpress.com/) . I decided to download a custom theme from Elegant Themes , and then I got web hosting and downloaded WordPress onto that. My web hosting then sent me this:
Your installation is ready. You can access it now by going to http://bblivingfit.wordpress.com/ .
And then they said they can log in with the following credentials and gave me a new user name and password to sign in with.
But for the life of me I can’t sign in using that info. It says invalid or says it seems trying to log into ww.wp.xz.cn and gives me a link but just goes back to my original log in page.
It just seems from the instructions, I am supposed to go to Dashboard, Appearance and then themes and then upload my custom theme. But I figure I have to log in through my new username and password given to me by my webhost to access this feature otherwise I’m just looking at my normal wordpress blog (.com) instead of the ww.wp.xz.cn which allows customization.

FYI the issue is resolved…it all goes back to the fact that I should have created a new domain name when registering with my web host.
