Installation Error on redirection.zip

I’m trying to install the plugin on an VirtualBox Ubuntu system I have running on my Windows desktop; I have opened up wp-content and wp-content/plugins (chmod 777 <the dir>) to no avail, I get this error, which I don’t understand as there is no specific directory mentioned:

Could not create directory.

What’s the directory it is trying to create, and can i “pre create” it to help the plugin along?
