Installation > Error establishing a database connection

    I may be new to WordPress, but I cannot seem to get the database connection going. Using 1&1 for my provider and I am sure the user/pass/hostname are all correct and the db is running and ready (after their 3-4 hour wait time to create). I even tried changing the password and reuploading the wpconfig file. Any suggestions?

    I’m having a similar problem with 1&1. For some reason everything is being stalled because you don’t have my email address which is ronna.porter @ btinternet.com. I appear to be installed, except for the fact that I can’t seem to communicate my wpconfig file to you – I have the user name and password

    First make sure you are connected to the database by trying to connect to MySQL via the MySQL administrator or some other database admin program. Check your user access privileges associated with the database you intend to use. you can try and create the datatables from your local machine is you have a web server running o a search on WAMP WordPress Installation I found a very good guide that stepped though it all step by step. I manage to get it up and working on desk top talking to a remote database server. No problem
