• Can anyone help? I’m getting an Installation Invalid message when I try to access the admin section for the plugin I installed. I am using Intothedarkroom’s blog template and the ITDR admin only gives me “Installation Invalid”. I don’t know how to make it work!

to rule out any conflict with other plugins may be using, or your theme, try:

-deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to narrow down and possibly fix the problem. If the problem goes away, activate them individually to find the culprit.

If you don’t have access to your admin area, try deactivating them manually via FTP or phpMyAdmin.

-switching to the default theme (“twentyten”) for a moment by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes. The idea is to force WordPress to fall back to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific issue.

Thank you. I did everything you said there and it still doesn’t work. I have another wordpress blog and an intothedarkroom (aka ITDR) template worked for that one. for that blog i did not update to 3.0.4 so I’m thinking this is the problem.

How can I start this process over and not upgrade to 3.0.4. and then activiate this theme?

you may Download WordPress again and replace your copies of everything EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies. This should replace your core files without changing your content and settings in wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory.

You mean downgrade back to whatever version you had prior to updating to 3.0.4? I am not sure.
