I have a new unpublished WordPress site and have installed the CiviCRM WordPress Member Sync plugin from the plugins ‘add new’ section.

Reading the install instructions it does not mention this approach – and I’m having issues with it.

Plugin is activated, but when I click ‘settings’ from the plugin I get a page that says “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” URL is https://breastfeedinglive.com.au/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=civi_wp_member_sync_parent

Just wondering what I’m doing wrong here.

@millesm Does your WordPress user have the ‘manage_options’ capability?

I don’t see any options in wordpress to ‘manage_options’, but I am the admin and only user on the site.
I have added a number of other plug-ins successfully

    Wordpress v5.4.1

Also, our civi installation is on another domain which is running out main website (drupal). My goal is for this new wordpress site to connect to civi to manage access to protected content.

@millesm Ah, I see. If CiviCRM isn’t installed as a plugin on your WordPress instance then this plugin won’t work for you. You’ll have to find another way – which probably requires a plugin that interfaces with CiviCRM via its REST API. I don’t know of one that does this, I’m afraid.
