Installing Google Analytics

Are there any WordPress experts out there who could assist me in installing Google Analytics on my self-hosted (BlueHost) WordPress blog? I was told that this was “super easy,” but I’ve encountered nothing but problem after problem. At this point, my options seem to be to either throw my computer through the window or enlist some help.

If there is someone out there who does this type of stuff for a living, can you please contact me? I’m willing to pay for your time.

Here’s what I’ve done so far…

I downloaded the “Google Analytics for WordPress Plugin.” I activated the Plugin. But after doing so, I got a message saying that I “must select which Analytics Profile to track before it can work.” So I try to do that, and am then prompted to “Authenticate with Google.” So then I click that. Doing so spawns this error message:

“The page you have requested cannot be displayed. Another site was requesting access to your Google Account, but sent a malformed request. Please contact the site that you were trying to use when you received this message to inform them of the error. A detailed error message follows:”

So now I’m back at square one trying to troubleshoot this error. I eventually find out that I have to do the following:

You need to register your domain with Google. You can do it here
https://www.google.com/accounts/ManageDomains
Type in domain and click add
click Manage yourdomain.com
agree to terms and services
type in http://yourdomain.com
type in description of site or title
click save
click return
Go back to Analytics360 and click authenticate

So I enter my domain, even though I’m not sure whether to enter it with the www or not.

But when I try to click on the domain name to register it, I get yet another error message telling me that I need to “verify ownership” by following ANOTHER 4-5 steps.

Its ridiculous… and certainly not easy. I’m no babe in the woods when it comes to technology either… at least I didn’t use to consider myself to be. 🙁

Anyway, if someone is out there who can help and wants to earn a few extra bucks, please reply with contact info. I can supply you with the necessary credentials and hopefully you can do it in a matter of a few minutes.

ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS ACTIVATE A FREAKIN’ PLUGIN!!! GRRRRRR!
